Description
Led by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), in collaboration with Bolton & Menk, and VSI Labs, the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Minnesota (UMN) has co-organized a Minnesota Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Drive MN Events, using the UMN CAV vehicle (that was acquired as part of the UMN CAV ecosystem that spurred by the community engagement need of the NSF SCC project) as well as a VSL CAV vehicle. These events serve two purposes: 1) We employ the equipped research vehicles to gather data along a sampling of road types while driving to event locations to assess the "AV readiness" of various road infrastructure across the State of Minnesota. 2) The Drive MN team will also meet attendees at each event location to showcase vehicle automation and real-time findings of the interaction with road infrastructure, as well as Minnesota’s CAV Guiding Principles.
