Rachel Berney, MCP, and Ph.D., UC Berkeley, is an urban design and planning scholar in the Department of Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington, Seattle. Her research focuses on using public spaces to support belonging, health & well-being, and personal mobility. She serves as the Faculty Director of Urban@UW, a transdisciplinary university-wide research initiative.
